Les anglais de Still House Plants jouent une sorte de post-rock improvisé infusé au R&B, aux rythmiques magnifiquement fracturées. Le trio est l’un des groupes de rock expérimental les plus excitants du moment, capturant des tempos irréels qu’il modifie à sa guise par de simples regards télépathiques. Le groupe applique les tropes de la musique électronique (samples, breaks, boucles) dans la manière dont il construit, ou plus exactement déconstruit, des chansons avec pour seules guitare, voix et batterie. A même le sol, au milieu du public et baigné de la lumière tombante à travers les vitres de Motoco, un moment assurément fort en émotion.
England’s Still House Plants play a kind of improvised R&B-infused post-rock, with beautifully fractured rhythms. The trio is one of the most exciting experimental rock bands around, capturing unreal tempos that they alter at will with simple telepathic glances. The band applies the tropes of electronic music (samples, breaks, loops) in the way they construct, or more accurately deconstruct, songs with only guitar, voice and drums. On the floor, in the middle of the audience, bathed in the light falling through Motoco’s windows, this was certainly an emotional moment.
